A.P.C.
KATIE HOLMES, FRENCH ELEGANCE MEETS NEW YORK CHIC.

A.P.C. KATIE HOLMES, FRENCH ELEGANCE MEETS NEW YORK CHIC.

American actress Katie Holmes, a loyal A.P.C. customer since the nineties, collaborated with the Parisian brand for an interaction composed of a dozen very feminine pieces and a line of extremely refined accessories.
By immersing herself in the A.P.C. archives on Rue Royale in Paris, Katie “[stepped] into the memories of A.P.C. garments of the past, bringing inspiration from collections from the early 2000s and working to make them modern and relevant to the 2024 customer.”
The collection is designed as a series of complete silhouettes, or ones that can easily be combined with one another.
A pastel-colored quilt, inspired by a model made by Katie Holmes’ mother, will also be available in one hundred numbered copies.

Q&A WITH KATIES HOLMES

1. Did you conceive this interaction with A.P.C. as a complete wardrobe?
I did approach this collection with the idea of it being a complete wardrobe. One can mix and match the pieces to create many different looks that suit one’s individual style. There are day looks and night looks. Professional and playful. Suits, skirts, jeans, flats, heels, jackets.

2. In a word, how would you define the twist you brought to this interaction?
I suppose tradition. We have incorporated quilting in some of our pieces and quilts that go along with the collection. To me, the patchwork speaks of history and memories. The thread of generations that live within each of us. Vintage inspiring modern. Honoring our past. Tradition.

3. What did you learn from this experience?
It has been a real gift working with Jean and Judith Touitou. They opened their creative process to me. They welcomed my ideas and we built this together. I learned from their artistic eyes about shape, form, and color. It has truly been a joy and a reminder that collaboration with kindness brings about beautiful and authentic work.
